Parmesan

ORIGIN: Middle French

DEFINITION: a very hard dry cheese with a sharp flavor that is cured for several years and used grated to season other foods (as spaghetti and sauces)

SENTENCE: Parmesan cheese is even used to season pizza! (Which is surprising because pizza already HAS cheese, so why would it need more?)
